Skydive Sebastian is located east of I-95 on the central coast of Florida, and features incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean, Sebastian Inlet, and Indian River Lagoon during free fall and under canopy. It’s a convenient drive from Orlando, Palm Beach, and Miami, making it one of the most accessible drop zones for Florida Skydivers.
Skydive Sebastian is consistently rated one of the top drop zones in the United States and attracts skydivers from around the world. They offer tandem skydiving, fun jumps, Accelerated Free Fall, world class coaching, and fun events like the Sebastian Invasion Boogie at the end of every year.
When you’re geared up, the plane is a short walk and the main landing area is just beyond the taxiway, making it easy to turn loads. When you’re done jumping for the day, check out the Zoo Bar cafe and bar which features local brews, good food, and the best coffee in town.
Amenities include a main hangar which houses manifest, tandem check-in, and the full-service rigging loft. There is also a team room with TV for debriefing your jumps, and lockers available for year round rental. The packing hangar is covered and carpeted, and there is plenty of grass to setup your own packing area during boogies.
The drop zone is spread out on 7 acres, with restrooms, team rooms, and showers for local campers. There are RV hookups but getting a spot here can be difficult, there is a waitlist and a lot of full-time jumpers.
For out-of-state jumpers, there is a free camping area and also several hotels within a couple miles that feature skydiver discounts (just ask).
Landing pattern is left-hand only, with 90° turns only. If you want to swoop, that’s a hop ‘n’ pop over the pond. Also, if you’re camping be sure to bring your bug spray. The no-see-ums (sand flies) and mosquitoes can get unruly after a good rain.
Florida weather changes quickly, especially during the summer. Mid-afternoon thunderstorms are common, and wind can pick up or change direction pretty quickly.
